Previous DNA Tests

Hi,
My maternal line is Casey, so I am unable to submit a test myself. However, I have 2 male cousins who are Caseys and have had y-chromosome DNA testing done in a different genealogy project.I also know of several other Caseys who were involved in this project. Can they submit their test results to this project? Do they need to test again to be involved in this project? Do they need the approval of the Doctors that sponsored the previous test?
Thank you,
Bernie

Link for other project?

Bernie,

Does the other genealogy project that your cousins are participating in have a web site? Maybe we could link to it from here and find a way to share info?

Casey links

Hi Chris,
The Casey DNA project they were in was before any commercial DNA testing was done. There test was done as a project at a university in England, there is no website associated with it. I have not heard back from my cousins yet on whether they will participate or not. I do have my Casey imfo online at rootsweb. The address is: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=show&db=fitz1959&recno=202 .The name of the page is FitzMaurice,Casey, and other New Brunswick families, but it contains imfo on Caseys in Massachusetts,New Jersey,New Hampshire,New Brunswick, and Cork County Ireland.I have about 3500 people in my database, 162 individual Caseys are listed (I am related to all of them). One of my cousins in Ireland has a personal website with his and my Casey genealogy imfo on it, I will see if he wants to link to your site. I would also recomend you link to the Casey message board at rootsweb. The address is: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.casey . Let me know if I can help out in any way, my email is fitz1959@netzero.com .

re: Previous DNA Tests

Hi Bernie,

That's a good question. I'll check and see if I can find anything on the FTDNA site. My guess is that they won't take result from other companies into their site. But I do know that FTDNA has created another site called Ysearch which is explicitly for sharing DNA results from across multiple sources. You might want to check that out.
