FTDNA 59 Marker Test

On the FTDNA site today they announced a new 59-marker Y-DNA test. Who's gonna upgrade first?! It's a $99 upgrade from the 37-marker test.

67 Marker Upgrade

OK, for a Christmas present to myself I just ponied up the $99 for the upgrade from the 37-marker test to the 67-marker test. That's $3.30 per marker, I hope something useful comes of it!

This email came today from FTDNA and offers some more details about the 59-marker test.

It is our pleasure to inform you that Family Tree DNA has launched the
highest resolution Y-DNA test in the market: the 59-marker Y-DNA test.

For information about the impact of this test for matching purposes,
please refer to the following page: http://www.ftdna.com/faq2.html

Not only does this new test have a very attractive price, but with our
recent increases in volume we have also been able to reduce the price of
the 37-marker test to $189. All the upgrades to 37 and 59 have been
priced accordingly!

Now that the 59 marker test has become available, we have dropped the 25
marker test option. However, participants who have already tested 25
markers will still be able to upgrade to 37 or to 59.
